There were several things happened and sometimes I feel sorry for. Like, why was I always disobedient my mom and sneaking around for reading books under the dimmed light. It costs me a glasses now. Or, why wouldn't I do sports like jogging, volley ball or basket ball? It costs me unhealthy legs, it's so big and mushy. Or, why do I always feel annoyance when I have acne? It costs me several acne scars.
So, do I need to feel regret all the time for doing all those stupid things? I don't think so. I will be more stupid if I always keep my regret. And keep doing those stupid things. Life is about learning. Learning about everything. Especially about yourself. About myself.
Here's a very best quote from Lily Aldrin, a fictional character in the CBS television series How I Met Your Mother.
Ted: No, it's not an adventure, it's a mistake!
Lily: OK, yes it's a mistake. I know it's a mistake, but there are certain things in life where you know it's a mistake but you don't really know it's a mistake because the only way to really know it's a mistake is to make the mistake and look back and say 'yep, that was a mistake.' So really, the bigger mistake would be to not make the mistake, because then you'd go your whole life not knowing if something is a mistake or not. And dammit, I've made no mistakes! I've done all of this; my life, my relationship, my career, mistake-free. Does any of this make sense to you?
Ted: I dunno, you said mistake a lot.
Let me get this clear. I'm not telling you people to keep making mistakes. No, I am really not. But please, just be yourself and do what you wanna do. If you already did a mistake, please take the wisdom and learn from it. And don't repeat it! You're only allowed to be stupid just for once, not twice. After you really know that it was a mistake, just leave it, and walk away from it.
